The IRC is seeking committed, organized and self-motivated individuals to fill the positions of Camp Counsellor in our Inuvialuit Summer Literacy Camp, which is being held in all six communities. These Literacy Camps aim to promote a love of reading, learning and increased self-confidence among kids aged 5-12 in our region.
The IRC will provide candidates with a fully-paid training session prior to the start of camp during the week of June 24th, 2019 with the lead staff in your community. Training completion is mandatory to be considered for the job. The camps will run for a full 3-weeks after Canada Day until July 19th.
•Be at least 16 years old, mature, punctual, responsible and able to work with little supervision;
•Enjoy working with young children. Previous experience is a bonus;
•Experience or interest in the fields of education, teaching or community programming;
•Ability to work well in a team;
•Be familiar with local agencies, leaders, culture and activities in the community;
•Possess (or be able to complete) a current Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen
