The position of Project Director, Health Methods and Data is located in Inuvik at Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) and reports to the Director of Government Affairs.
Within Inuvialuit Regional Corporation, the Project Director, Health Methods and Data leads the work to facilitate health research methods, health data projects and activities with the objectives towards improving health outcomes for Indigenous people throughout the NWT.
A staff member of the CIHR-funded Hotıì ts'eeda: NWT SPOR SUPPORT Unit, the Director is responsible for leading Hotıì ts'eeda work in undertaking community based research, in particular health methods and data projects and activities and building the capacity and experience of Indigenous persons in health research. Supporting the application of Indigenous research methods in collaboration with western science, and ensuring knowledge is presented to and retained in communities requires facilitating and maintaining strong relationships across the NWT and with academic organizations, in collaboration with the Scientific Director.
The successful candidate will possess a PhD or graduate or post-secondary degree in a social, natural, physical sciences or health field, or in areas such as health economics, statistics, public/business administration, health administration, research methodologies, Indigenous studies and governance or other social science disciplines.
A combination of equivalent or relevant education and work experience would be considered. Salary range for this position available upon request.
Priority consideration will be given to beneficiaries of the Inuvialuit Final Agreement.
