Inuvialuit Regional Corporation is seeking applications for an Inuvialuit representative to sit on the NWT Tourism Advisory Board.
This board manages the organization that is implementing both advocacy work for the tourism industry, and destination marketing work on behalf of the Government of the NWT in order grow the tourism economy. Board members with knowledge, experience and even expertise in the tourism industry is important. In the absence of tourism specific knowledge, a sound understanding of economic development, business budgeting and marketing is an asset for board members.
The NWT Tourism Board generally meets four (4) times (both in person & teleconference) per year. Most meetings are held in Yellowknife (unless an AGM is planned in another location) or teleconference. NWT Tourism covers the cost of travel to the meeting, accommodations and per diem. During NWT Tourism Advisory Board meetings, a daily honorarium will be paid by Inuvialuit Regional Corporation.
