2021 Distribution of Dividend to Inuvialuit

Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) will distribute a payment of $890 each to enrolled Inuvialuit beneficiaries of the Inuvialuit Trust in accordance with IRC’s Distribution Policy and approved by the IRC Board of Directors.  

Distribution payments will be issued by May 1, 2021.

IRC Chair and CEO Duane Ningaqsiq Smith is pleased to announce the 2021 payments, “IRC is able to consistently and sustainably provide Inuvialuit with a financial dividend and hopes that these increased payments will find beneficiaries in good health and enjoying spring with their families even in this COVID pandemic year.”

2021 will again set a record for highest total amount with $ 4.2 M going directly to Inuvialuit. Profits made over the year from IRC subsidiaries contribute to the distribution.

IRC distributes dividend payments from the resources of the Inuvialuit Land Claim Settlement as outlined by the Inuvialuit Final Agreement and pays those profits out equally to beneficiaries each year.  The IRC Distribution Policy further ensures sufficient reinvestment of profits to guarantee the preservation and growth of the land claim capital for future generations of Inuvialuit.

EFTs will automatically be paid to those who have already signed up for direct deposit. Cheques will be mailed to those outside the Region.  Community Corporations will be passing out the cheques in their communities using safe COVID-modified methods, look for notices from your CC.
