Inuvialuit Elders are to receive Special Elders Benefit payment from the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) on December 1, 2022.
The Inuvialuit Regional Corporation is proud to announce that all Inuvialuit Beneficiaries over the age of 60 will receive an Elders Benefit payment of $500.
The Elders Benefit is made possible through interest income from the Inuvialuit Social Development Fund, approved by the IRC Board of Directors during their regular meeting on November 22-23, 2022.
“IRC recognizes the significant role and contribution our Elders provide in each of our ISR communities. We are pleased to acknowledge them with this Elders payment.” – Chair & CEO, Duane Ningaqsiq Smith
IRC’s Special Elders Benefit Payments will be issued on December 1, 2022:
- For those Elders registered for direct deposit with IRC Enrolment Deposit, payments will be deposited directly to your bank;
- For those Elders who are not registered for direct deposit, each Community Corporation will be distributing the Elders Benefit cheques in your community;
- For those Elders living outside the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR), the Elders Benefit cheques will be mailed – please ensure your address is up to date and notify IRC Enrolment if it has changed.
