A Reminder to Urban Inuvialuit in order to access Early Childhood Programs.
The Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) would like to remind Inuvialuit Beneficiaries living in Urban centers outside of the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR), can now apply for funding under the Inuvialuit Early Childhood Program to assist with Childcare costs (up to age 12 years).
The Inuvialuit Early Childhood Program will provide funding that is universally accessible to Inuvialuit Beneficiaries across Canada. It aims to address some of the social inequities that serve as needless barriers to Inuvialuit, such as childcare, family support, and the cost of living far away from home and family.
Inuvialuit who are enrolled Beneficiaries of the Inuvialuit Final Agreement and who reside in Canada are eligible.
There are no deadlines to apply, you can submit an application once your child (0-12) has been accepted into childcare or afterschool care – the child MUST be registered in a licensed day home/daycare center, no payments will be issued to individual caretakers in the home.
A completed and signed application package must be submitted before it is submitted for approval, incomplete applications will not be accepted.
See checklist:
- Completed signed application package (incomplete applications will not be accepted).
- Two proofs of identification (i.e., health care card and Inuvialuit Beneficiary number).
- Proof of identification for dependents (i.e., health care card or registration number).
- Letter of acceptance into the child’s program he/she is attending.
