Applications opening for IRC Spring On the Land Support

April 28, 2022

Applications open today for Spring On the Land support going to beneficiary households within the Inuvialuit Settlement Region who will be spending extended periods of time at their camps this Spring.

This is a seventh round of On the Land support provided by The Inuvialuit Regional Corporation over the course of the global COVID pandemic.

As a Spring program, applications will be accepted between April 28 and May 6, 2022  from households who are planning to spend time at their camps.

“As we begin to put the pandemic behind us, we want to help families focus on culture, healing and family bonds through spending time on the land,” said IRC Chair and CEO Duane Ningaqsiq Smith. “IRC is happy to provide the support that makes getting out to camps a little easier this spring.”

How it works:

  • All Households need to apply, even if they’ve received previous OTL support from IRC.
  • Applications are available here and must be submitted by May 6, 2022 at 5pm to the Email: ontheland@inuvialuit.com
  • Households who require assistance filling out the application can call: (867) 777-7000
  • Approved households can collect vouchers starting Monday, May 16 at the grocery store and gas/fuel station identified on your Spring 2022 household application form.  Successful applicants will be able to spend vouchers through June 30, 2022 for on the land supplies.  Each successful applicant household will have a $600 voucher at the grocery store and for $200 voucher for gas.

Inuvialuit Regional Corporation appreciates the partnership of local retail stores and wishes all of those travelling on the land a safe season at your camps.  Please make sure applicant households provide an emergency contact who is aware of travel plans as part of submitting a complete form to IRC’s On the Land support program.
