Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami Federal Funding Announcement

IRC Chair and CEO Duane Ningaqsiq Smith joined leaders from the other Inuit regions at the Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami Board of Directors meeting in Ottawa on July 13th. During that meeting the ITK Board divided several important federal funding pots:

  • Inuit TB Strategy: IRC will receive $832,680.00 to support the Tumihiuqtuq Initiative, which is working towards eliminating Tuberculosis in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR) by 2030.
  • Inuit Climate Leadership Agenda: IRC will receive $866,880.00, which will support the implementation of the ISR Climate Change Strategy.
  • Inuit Early Learning and Child Care Framework: IRC will receive $61,224,847.00, this will support the operation and expansion of IRC’s existing Child Development Centres.
