The Inuvialuit Regional Corporation acknowledges and recognizes May 5th as the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Today especially, but everyday is a day to remember and honour Indigenous women and girls who have been affected by violence and continue to be subject to brutality, force and evil. IRC wholeheartedly is committed to Inuvialuit and Indigenous women and families and works every day to support the creation of a safer and more just society for all.
IRC will continue to stand strong in our commitment to advancing the safety and wellbeing of Indigenous women and girls – both in the ISR and across the country as a whole. We will continue our work with government agencies, community organizations, and community members to address the root causes of violence and promote healing and reconciliation.
Please take time today to reflect and reflect and please know Inuvialuit across the country are doing the same.
