Fall 2026 on-the-land support application process now open
Applications open today for funding to support fall 2026 on-the-land activities that take place within the Inuvialuit Settlement Region (ISR). This funding is intended to promote the continuation of traditional skills and practices among Inuvialuit.
Funding is now available for eligible beneficiaries who are currently living outside the ISR, but who will be coming to the ISR for on-the-land activities (all activities must take place within the ISR).
Time spent on the land is an opportunity to be with family and friends. It’s a time to focus on culture, healing and strengthening family bonds. This funding makes it easier for IFA beneficiaries to reconnect to the land and, in so doing, to who they are.
The deadline for the first round of applications is Tuesday, October 6 at 12pm MST. Vouchers will be available in the ISR communities starting Friday, October 9 and must be picked up by Friday, October 23.
If you need more time to complete your on-the-land application, you can submit an application until the program closes on Tuesday, October 13 at 12pm MST. With this final deadline, vouchers will be available Friday, October 16 and must be picked up by Friday, October 30.
How it works
1. Funds are available to support spending time on the land in the ISR this fall.
2. One application per beneficiary household. Must be a beneficiary of the IFA.
4. Approved households will receive a voucher for $300 for gas and $400 for groceries. Only the applicant will be able to pick up the voucher.
5. Successful applicants are invited to share a post of their harvest on Facebook or Instagram, with the hashtag #IRCOTL2026
Please be sure to indicate your preferred community, gas station and grocery store for vouchers on the application.
