Illingnun Ukpigin (Believe in Yourself) wellness program now accepting applications

The Illingnun Ukpigin (Believe in Yourself) wellness program is now accepting applications for its 2025 program.  

This nine-month trauma-focused program begins with an on-the-land retreat at Reindeer Station, March 24 to April 4. Selected participants will safely explore their own trauma with safe support and guidance from elders, peers, counsellors and a mental health occupational therapist.

About the Program

Project Jewel is an on-the-land wellness program that builds in aftercare supports for its participants. Within IRC’s Health & Wellness division, Project Jewel strives to provide services that are client-driven, culturally sensitive and relevant. With the assistance of elders, external and internal facilitators, and clinical support, the program works with individuals to manage stress, grief and trauma. lllingnun Ukpigin is in it’s fifth year of operation under Project Jewel.

Applicants must be residents of the Beaufort Delta and 18 years of age or over.
