This position is a front-line worker and main point of contact as it relates to Self Government for Inuvialuit members located in and outside the (ISR) Inuvialuit Settlement Region.
The Self Government Field Worker provides information, through presentations, facilitates and set-up meetings, one-on-one/house-to-house visits as it relates to any Self Government processes of the Government Affairs division within the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation.
The ideal candidate will have related experience in the area of taking surveys and providing information to the general public by presenting to a group or one-on-one.
The skills and abilities required for this position include: must be personable; able to speak in public meetings; able to plan events; must be self-motivated; will have excellent telephone manners/skills; Able to accurately document questions received or any inquiries about Self Government. Able to take information and use discretion and confidentiality; Must have interpersonal skills to provide information with respect and kindness. Fluency and functionality in the Inuvialuktun language is an important asset. Must have computer skills in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Outlook.
This position will be part-time, term and working evenings and weekends and will be working independently with remote supervision. Positions available in Edmonton, Yellowknife, and Whitehorse.
Priority consideration will be given to beneficiaries of the Inuvialuit Final Agreement.
