Inuvialuit Education Foundation
The Inuvialuit Education Foundation (IEF) is a registered charitable organization that was established in 1990 that works to accomplish three specific goals.
- To increase the number of beneficiaries accessing and completing post-secondary education.
- To support the overall goals of the Inuvialuit Final Agreement, enabling beneficiaries to be equal and meaningful participants in the northern economy.
- To establish specific educational assistance goals and programs linked to beneficiary recruitment and career development within Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC), Inuvialuit Development Corporation and subsidiaries.
Education, Training and Capacity staff visit each community at least once a year to meet with beneficiaries during career fairs, graduations, corporate tours, as well as specific visits for post-secondary education application assistance.
The foundation provides educational assistance and encouragement to Inuvialuit students through a number of available programs.
A financial assistance program for Inuvialuit beneficiaries pursuing full-time post-secondary education in diploma or degree programs. To receive funding, Inuvialuit students must achieve and maintain a 70 per cent or better average.
Mature students who do not have transcripts available within the previous five years are eligible for one semester, after which they must present a transcript.

IEF Scholarships
Multiple scholarship opportunities that promote beneficiaries to further their education at the post-secondary level are available. The main focus of the scholarships is to offer encouragement and financial rewards to Inuvialuit students who achieve a 75 per cent or higher average.
Tutoring Program
IEF offers funding to schools, communities and individuals student for group After School Tutoring programs. Tutors for students at all levels (including upgrading and post-secondary) are available. Tutoring availability is dependant on need, instructor recommendations and the availability of qualified tutors.
IEF is always looking for qualified tutors.
